D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemorations

The Parish Council would like to thank the community for supporting the D-Day 80th anniversary celebrations held on the 6th and 8th June. In particular we would like to extend thanks to the veterans who made the event so special, the British Legion representative and the bugler who helped to reflect the significance of what happened 80 years ago.
Thanks also to the vicar from Holy Trinity Church for blessing the permanent memorial placed in the village and to the members of the church who provided a wonderful buffet afterwards. Thank you too to the photographer and the sports hall for their support.
We hope you enjoyed both events, the lighting of the beacon and the unveiling of the memorial stone.
Finally, a special thanks to the young people of Leven, the Scouts who helped with refreshments on the 6th and those who joined the events and honoured the memory of those who took part on D-day with respect.
